NAIDOC Week events are set to be held across Tasmania next week, with celebrations of Aboriginal culture set to be held in the state's North-West, North and South.

Held under the theme 50 Years of Deadly, this year's NAIDOC Week marks the milestone of five decades of the National NAIDOC movement in Australia.

The following events will be held across the state during NAIDOC Week, which is being held from Sunday 5 to Sunday 12 July.

NAIDOC at Tiagarra

What: NAIDOC Week celebration at Tiagarra.

When: Monday 6 July, 10:30am for 11am flag raising ceremony.

Where: Tiagarra Tasmanian Aboriginal Cultural Centre - Mersey Bluff, Devonport.

Details: Tiagarra's NAIDOC Week event will include the annual flag raising ceremony, as well as dancing, singing and performances by artists including Nawnta DENNI and Nitas Yirrmal, Kiz + Hermit.

When: Tuesday 7 July, 10am to 2pm.

Where: Trawmanna - 73 Mella Road, Smithton.

Details: Traditional foods, cultural activities, smoking ceremony, cultural dance and song, language activities, children's activities and more.

Where: Port Cygnet Cannery - 60 Lymington Road, Cygnet.

Details: Art workshops, yarning time, skinning workshop, community connections, cultural food, cultural activities, flag raising.

Karadi Aboriginal Corporation's 2026 NAIDOC Race

What: Karadi Aboriginal Corporation's 2026 NAIDOC Race.

When: Tuesday 7 July, 10am to 2pm.

Where: Karadi Aboriginal Corporation, 4 Rothesay Circle, Goodwood.

Details: Join Karadi Aboriginal Corporation to celebrate Tasmanian Aboriginal culture as part of their NAIDOC Week Amazing Race.

The event presents as a fun-filled adventure exploring Hobart's northern suburbs and completing challenges along the way while celebrating Indigenous culture and community spirit.

Teams are encouraged to dress up, with prizes for best dressed teams, team name and others throughout the day.

Team registration will open at 10am with flag raising ceremony and race to commence at 10:30am. The last pitstop will be at Tolosa Park at 12pm, where a barbecue lunch will be provided.
