Wakaid woman and NRLW Dragons player, Kimberley Hunt, has been recognised for her commitment to men's mental health.
Hunt was recently awarded the Veronica White Medal for Woman of the Year, an honour given to players making a positive impact in their communities.
As part of the award, Hunt was given the opportunity to direct a $3,500 donation from the NRL to a charity of her choice.
She selected the Kunjur Men's Group, which supports suicide prevention and wellbeing for men in the community.
"Grateful for what you provide to our men in our community," Hunt said.
"Growing up, I witnessed the tireless efforts of strong black men and women who dedicated their lives to uplifting rural and remote communities.
"Their unwavering commitment to supporting young men and women like myself ignited a fire in me to contribute in my own way."

The Kunjur Men's Group has expressed their appreciation, saying the donation has allowed them to improve their services.
"For many years, we relied on an old hot water urn and served food straight from pots," the group said.
"With this funding, we can now provide a food-safe bain-marie, which will enhance our service quality and help us better support our men."
The funds have also gone towards equipment for the group's mobile Men's Yarning Circles, including chairs, tables, a camp kitchen, and gas burners for making beverages.
"This will allow us to reach more men and create a welcoming environment where they can comfortably seek support," they said.
The group thanked Hunt for her advocacy and support, saying her contribution will have a lasting impact on the wellbeing of men in the community.
