ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Common Ground Queensland (CGQ) is a specialist supportive housing organisation providing supportive and affordable housing to people who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness based in South Brisbane. We offer housing to individuals and families in high and medium density single site and dispersed site models.
Our supportive housing approach offers long term, safe and affordable housing that is intentionally linked to personalised support services. Support services for tenants are provided through partner organisations.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance Officer supports the Finance Manager and is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, processing payroll and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
The Finance Officer must be able work in partnership with the Finance Manager, Operations and Tenancy team.

Experience working within the not-for-profit or community services sector will be highly regarded, as will a genuine commitment to our organisation’s mission and values.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential

Experience in a finance, bookkeeping, or accounting role including payroll.

A high proficiency level in accounting software (MYOB/Xero) and medium to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Confidence and skill in working with information technology systems.

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and analytical ability.

A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to support continuous improvement.

The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Desirable

Bachelor degree in Accounting or Commerce.

Understanding of or experience in partnering with homeless support services.

Experience working in the not-for-profit sector.

Policy, procedural and protocol development experience
