Fitzroy Crossing Indigenous business organisation Leedal Foundation has worked with state emergency services to distribute $700,000 worth of food and other essential supplies to flood-ravaged communities in the Fitzroy Valley.
Leedal Foundation owns and operates the town's IGA supermarket and a number of other businesses.
The Foundation's executive chair, Patrick Green, said local Indigenous organisations had collaborated to help the communities.
"What we, Leedal, are good at is supplying food and essentials from the supermarket," he told National Indigenous Times.
"We have worked along with Marra Worra Worra (resource centre), Bunuba (Aboriginal Corporation) and the women's group Marninwarntikura in helping get together the essentials and get it out to the community, to make it available to emergency services to get it to the people in need."
It is understood the state government will later remunerate Leedal for the stock.
"We didn't wait. It was an emergency and we didn't hesitate in helping give food where it was needed," said Mr Green.
Mr Green thanked the WA Emergency Services minister and others for working with local Indigenous organisations on the flood response.
"We thank Stephen Dawson for his efforts, and the local members who have participated in getting the services people to listen to us and get us involved in the response," he said.
"I would also like to thank Senator Glenn Sterle for his efforts to get us involved as well."

The floods in Western Australia's Kimberley region have caused evacuations, food shortages and fears of a health crisis.
Authorities said that at the peak of the flooding in in the Valley 60,000 cubic metres of water was flowing through Martuwarra/Fitzroy River a second, with enough water to supply the city of Perth for 20 years flowing each day.
Homes and businesses in communities across the Fitzroy Valley were flood and many residents evacuated to shelters on higher ground.
The river at Fitzroy Crossing peaked at 15.8 metres Thursday morning. The floods are expected to reach the community of Willare on Monday or early Tuesday.
