A city-wide festival, futurist think tank, a showcase of the latest games, alongside film and TV world premieres, a next-gen technology expo and a line-up of world changing speakers will be hosted in Australia for the first time in October.
South by SouthWest (SXSW), where leading thinkers come together to trade ideas once a year in Dallas, Texas, will now take place for a second time this year; in Sydney, from October 15-22.
There is an impressive schedule of over 300 sessions that are sure to keep attendees informed and engaged. The topics include a variety of exciting themes such as First Nations knowledge and design, brain-computer interfaces, and AI fluency.
Additionally, there are over 400 artist performances, including a diverse range of artists from around the world.

The week-long festival is a celebrated platform for the latest and greatest in arts, music, and technology. It has served as the birthplace of game-changing innovations such as Uber, and has propelled cultural icons like Billie Eilish into the spotlight.
A diverse range of over 700 panellists have already been announced from Netflix ANZ Director of Content Que Minh Luu, Google Australia MD Mel Silva to World Surfing Champion Layne Beachley and artistic director Wesley Enoch.

Bringing something for everyone, there will be more than 18 conference tracks, hundreds of panels, presentations, workshops, and mentor sessions.
One of the most exciting parts of SXSW Sydney is the chance to experience undiscovered music talent at the SXSW Sydney Music Festival. APRA-AMCOS, BMI, Dr Martens, Handsome Tours, Laneway Festival, The Orchard, Vans, Virgin Music, Warner Music, YEG (Indonesia) will be the presenters of venues and takeovers.

The Games Festival celebrates the future of the gaming industry, and the Screen Festival is a future-focused program of film, episodic content, digital, XR, and social content premieres. 150 indie games from around the world will be showcased. Submissions close on 16 August and it's free.

The Tech & Innovation Expo showcases emerging tech and entertainment companies, and the Startup Village is a spot for meet-ups, presentations, and showcases from up-and-coming businesses. Available will be a money-can't-buy opportunity to pitch your startup to global innovators, including Judge (and Slack Co-Founder), Carl Henderson. Presented by VentureCrowd.
