Shai Bolton will reportedly undergo scans following an injury at training this week, with his availability to feature for the Indigenous All Stars in a fortnight cast into doubt.

The 26-year-old is set to get scans on his calf on Saturday.

Fremantle's marquee arrival in the recent trade period was set to switch allegiance and face new teammates with the Indigenous All Stars against the Dockers at Optus Stadium in Perth.

Bolton joined Fremantle skipper Alex Pearce and veteran Michael Walters as early selections in the representative First Nations side, which next month returns for the first time in a decade.

Earlier on Friday, former Fremantle favourite and current club Next Generation Academy and game development coach, Roger Hayden, was confirmed as one of four assistants to head coach Xavier Clarke for the match.

Walters is on the mend from minor surgery over the summer break, while Pearce has forecast positive strides in recovery from duel arm fractures which ended his 2024 season early.

The Fremantle captain extended his deal at the club to the end of 2027 earlier this month.

11 players have so far been named in he Indigenous All Stars squad, including Callum Ah Chee, Charlie Cameron, Bobby Hill, Brad Hill, Izak Rankine, Liam Ryan, Jarman Impey and Kozzie Pickett, alongside the Dockers' names.

The full squad is expected in early February.
