Manandanji and Waanyi rapper Say True God? is set to defend his Soreheads Promotions cruiserweight boxing title against Torres Strait and Tongan influencer Tommy The Cowboy in Brisbane on December 1.

The two were originally scheduled to fight in Yeppoon earlier this year, however the anticipated bout fell through following unforeseen circumstances.

Say True God?, also known as STG, instead faced CrossFit athlete Jake Douglas, securing a technical knockout (TKO) victory late in the second round to claim the cruiserweight title.

Following the win, the Magandjin- (Brisbane) based artist thanked those who supported him and acknowledged his opponent.

"I just want say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has backed me and supported me! The support has been true and proper!" Say True God? said.

"And a huge amount of respect to my opponent, Jake Douglas. An absolute top bloke and a great opponent."

STG will now defend his title against Tommy at Soreheads II: Brisbane Showdown, which will take place at the Brisbane Showgrounds on Tuesday, December 1.

The rapper, known for his work in Indigenous hip hop and his album 'BLAK', is preparing for the fight at All-Stars Boxing.

He is also seeking sponsorship from businesses and supporters interested in being involved in the upcoming event.

STG recently put out a call for potential sponsors while travelling in Japan, encouraging businesses to consider supporting his next appearance in the ring.

He explained that any sponsorship would need to be based on shared values and mutual support.

"I just wanted to make the most of this opportunity, send any feelers out there to any businesses that maybe want to jump on board to see how we could come together and build a relationship or even just come together and add value to each other," Say True God? said.

He hopes family, friends and supporters who missed the Yeppoon event will have the opportunity to attend the Brisbane showdown.

Tommy The Cowboy is also seeking sponsors ahead of the contest, with both fighters encouraging interested businesses to contact them through their social media accounts.

Tommy is expecting the fight to attract considerable attention following the cancellation of their original match-up.

"It should be a good night and we should get a lot of traction from this fight," Tommy said.

The event will also feature Gomeroi rapper Kobie Dee, who is scheduled to face Jake Young in a co-main event.

The appearance will add another First Nations hip hop artist to the boxing card, alongside STG.

STG is looking forward to returning to the ring but has also emphasised the importance of safety for everyone taking part.

He expressed his support for the other fighters ahead of the December event.

"All the best to all the fighters on the fight card and all I hope is that we all go back to our loved ones and families the way we left them," Say True God? said.

Tickets for Soreheads II: Brisbane Showdown are available through the event's official ticketing page.
