Former AFL player Josh Hill has reportedly been charged with child sex offences allegedly committed in WA.

Hill, who has recently gone by the surname Carter, is charged with four counts of sexually penetrating a child over 13 and under 16, The West Australian reports.

Three offences are alleged to have occurred in Broome in December 2015, with another alleged offence in Perth in January 2016.

The 36-year-old former Western Bulldogs and West Coast player appeared in Northbridge Court on Saturday, it has been reported.

He was not required to plead, and was reportedly given a number of orders including surrendering his passport to a Victorian Court, forfeiting his working with children card and prohibited from having any contact with a list of people named, but Hill is permitted to take his children to daycare.

Details of the alleged offences were not read out.

The matter has reportedly been adjourned until April 14, when it will be heard in Broome.

Hill's negotiated bail conditions were reportedly a topic of the matter in court on Sunday.

Last month, the former grand finalist signed with a local Melbourne football club for 2025.

He played 173 AFL games and kicked 226 goals across 11 seasons.
