West Coast Eagles forward Isiah Winder's ban from the club's senior side appears to be over after the 20-year-old resumed pre-season preparations with the group on Monday.
He returned the AFL squad after the Christmas break and a period restricted to training with their WAFL side following an off-season incident while attending the AFL/AFL Player Association Multicultural Players Summit in Geelong in December.
It was reported a physical altercation occurred while Winder was out socialising.
Eagles coach Adam Simpson was quick to show his support shortly after the incident, saying Winder "made a mistake" but had hard work in front of him before re-entering considerations for the 2023 season.
The club confirmed on Monday Winder has been charged with assault, but has "worked hard to regain the trust and confidence" of his teammates and coaching staff.
"The club continued to support Isiah while he was directed to train with the WAFL squad after an incident in Geelong at the end of a camp in December for the AFL's Indigenous and multicultural players," the Eagles released in a statement.
"He has worked hard to regain the trust and confidence of players and staff before returning to train with the AFL squad.
"The Club has also been informed that Winder has been charged with assault as a result of the incident in Geelong. As this matter is scheduled to go before the courts later this year the Club can make no further comment at this time."
Winder has played seven AFL games with West Coast since his debut in 2021.
