The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition will feature Wagga funnyman, Dane Simpson.
Simpson will be joined by his father, Bow, and they hope to take home the prize of $100,000 which will be donated to the Dharriwaa Elders Group.
Dharriwaa Elders Group help provide remote communities with clean drinking water, where people are buying bottled water to survive.
"$100k will supply people in Walgett with fresh drinking water which is obviously something that we're very passionate about," Dane said in a Q&A.
"Dad spends a lot of time in Waglett, has a house there. He lives there half the time, and he lives in Wagga Wagga."
Bow Simpson works for the charity who help provide water to his hometown of Waglett, which has gone without drinkable tap water for five years.
Dane notes he wanted to challenge himself and is looking forward to the experience with his father.
"I do make fun, and people think 'ah what a joke', but this is the real. This is going to be fun. I think Australia is absolutely going to fall in love with him."
Bow responded: "I didn't know I was going to do it, but I'm happy to do it!"
The global race began in Delhi on Thursday night and is scheduled to be broadcast later this year.
The father-son duo will join the likes of Ben and Jackie Gillies, George "King Of Bankstown" Mladenov, Rebecca Judd, Darren McMullen, Peter Rowsthorn and Harry Jowsey,Grant and Chezzi Denyer, Emma Watkins, Alli Simpson, Jana Pittman and their nominated loved ones on a hot lap around the world.
The competition unfolds through landscapes of India, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Borneo.
The 11 celebrity racers and their companions will face the challenges posed by the natural elements as they strive to reach the finish line and secure funds for their designated charitable causes.
"I think having fun and trying to solve some of the puzzles together is going to be really silly and really fun," Dane said.
"And hanging out with dad - I spend most of the year touring around, so to spend a lot of time with family is just going to be awesome for me."
