Josh Addo-Carr has been removed from the Kangaroos squad a week out from their opening match of the Pacific Championships following his alleged involvement in an all-in brawl at the Koori Knockout at the weekend.
The league issued the Bulldogs winger with a breach notice after an integrity unit investigation into the incident on the NSW Central Coast.
It is alleged Addo-Carr brought the game into disrepute after punching an opposition player while taking the field for Sydney All Blacks at the annual Aboriginal rugby league carnival.
Video footage of the 28-year-old's punch has circulated online, although questions remain on what sparked the fight.
Koori Knockout organisers played down the incident.
He was initially kept in the squad despite the controversy, though his departure was confirmed on Friday morning with Penrith's Dylan Walker named his replacement.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported on Thursday evening Addo-Carr was expected to be handed a two-game ban.
SMH said the Bulldogs were unaware of his sanction, Andrew Abdo and ARLC chairman Peter V'landys both declined to comment while Australia coach Mal Meninga did not respond to calls.
On Wednesday, 2022 Dally M medallist Nicho Hynes was added to the squad for a potential Kangaroos debut replacing the injured Nathan Cleary.
Hynes recently featured in Australia Prime Minister's XIII 30-18 win over PNG in Port Moresby last month.
The Sharks half joins fellow untried stars Selwyn Cobbo Kotoni Staggs and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow in the Kangaroos set-up.
They face Samoa for their first of two guaranteed Pacific Championships contests in Townsville on October 14.
Addo-Carr has five days to respond to the NRL's beach notice.
