Wiradjuri man and Labor MP for Robertson has retained his seat on the New South Wales Central Coast to secure a second term in Parliament.

Reid gained a 8.58 per cent two candidate preferred swing, per AEC as of 9:50pm AEST on Saturday, on a night where Labor swept into victory.

In the 2022 election, Dr Reid, a former emergency doctor in the region, won his first term with a 2.2 per cent margin, regained the seat for Labor for the first time since losing to the Liberal Party in 2013.

He was most contested by Liberal candidate Lucy Wicks, who is projected to receive just under 40 per cent of the vote (two-candidate) - after receiving 47.77 per cent of the vote ion the last federal election.

Ms Wicks had previously held Robertson from 2013-2022.

Dr Reid came into the 2025 election as one of two Indigenous MPs recontesting their seats, alongside Labor colleague Marion Scrymgour, who has similarly been declared for a second term for the NT seat of Lingiari.

"We will be a stronger nation when we close the gap," re-elected Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said in his successful result address on Saturday night.

Mr Albanese committed to efforts towards reconciliation in the coming term.
