With what could prove his goodbye to the club, Daniel Rioli has taken out Richmond's Jack Dyer Medal as their men's side's best and fairest for the 2024 season.

Rioli, who was alone in playing all 23 matches within an injury-depleted, light-on-win season at Punt Road, ended the count with 40 votes, narrowly beating out fellow defender Nick Vlastuin in second and skipper Toby Nankervis in third.

It's Rioli's first Jack Dyer Medal after nine seasons and 183 senior games with the Tigers.

In a two-win year, the 27-year-old ranked first for disposals and in the top three for score involvements, rebound-50s, intercepts and for metres gained at the club.

Rioli's honour comes amidst high likelihood he's played his last game for the Tigers.

Following the end of their season, Rioli confirmed speculation of his intent to follow previous head coach Damien Hardwick - who he shares 2017, '19 and '20 premiership triumphs with, to the Gold Coast for 2025.

Fellow premiership player and likely departee Shai Bolton also took to the stage at Tuesday night's count.

Bolton claimed the Michael Roach award as leading goalkicker after 34 majors across 2024, and finished equal-fifth in the best-and-fairest poll beside Liam Baker - who are both linked to moves west in the upcoming trade period.

The night included comment from president John O'Rourke, taken by some as an icy swipe, singling out eventual top-five finisher and mid-season re-sign Nathan Broad after referencing the trade period.

"What a Richmond man," O'Rourke said.

Of his Jack Dyer Medal, Rioli acknowledged the continued family line in taking out the award. His grandfather Maurice Rioli Sr won back-to-back medals in1982-83.

"It's pretty special...and to be able to receive this award, it means the world to me," Rioli said, among thanks extended to the club and teammates.
