Fremantle will host the long-running Deadly Funny national comedy competition at the Fremantle Arts centre at 7pm, tonight - Thursday 2 March.

Described as "cheeky, loud, Black and proud!" Deadly Funny, part of Melbourne's international comedy festival, is where the freshest and funniest First Nation Talent is showcased.

MCd by Fabian Woods (2019 Deadly Funny National Champion), the event will catch the future generation of stars before they become the next big thing, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders over the age of 18 encouraged to show off their comedic talent and storytelling.

The audience is in for a treat Thursday night, witnessing Perth's best comedians, whether they've been in the game for years or up and coming.

Materials from the competition can expand from stand up, musical, sketch, physical/dance or character based, or simply the telling of a good yarn.

Deadly Funny is entering its 17th year and has witnessed the talent of Steph Tisdell, Kevin Kropinyeri, Andy Saunders, Shiralee Hood, Dane Simpson, Elaine Crombie, and Sean Choolburra.

Tickets are available here.
