Charlie Cameron's second All Australian selection on Wednesday night came as no surprise to his 'proud' football club as they eye-off a premiership tilt ahead of finals.
The Lions gun earned his spot in the forward line amongst the league's best performers over the 2023 home-and-away season coming off a 53.23 campaign - equal-fifth on the Coleman medal tally and the most by a Brisbane player.
Cameron's consistency is marked by 55 and 54 goal returns in the previous two seasons.
The 29-year-old was named All Australian for the first time in 2019.
Cameron's craft in front of goals has established him as one of the most destructive small forwards in the game with asset of a knack for kicking a bags.
Between rounds four and eight in 2023, Cameron slotted 23 majors - including six and seven goal efforts against eventual minor premiers Collingwood and the finals-bound Giants respectively.
"Charlie has had a very consistent season and played a very important role in our team and in particular our forward line," Lions general manager of football Danny Daly said.
"Obviously Charlie has kicked plenty of goals which is what everyone looks at, but what has really impressed us about his game is his score involvements and his defensive pressure.
"The other area is his leadership which he has continued to build on and he really leads the way in our forward line.
"This is Charlie's second All-Australian selection which is a fantastic achievement, and we are all very proud of."
After failing to capitalise on promising seasons through September in recent years, the Lions enter this year's finals in second spot and off four straight wins - their last two against fellow top eight sides the Collingwood and St Kilda.
The Lions host Port Adelaide in the second qualifying final on September 10.
Cameron will look to make amends after failing to hit the scoreboard in his side's only previous outing against the Power this year in the opening round of the season.
It was one of just four goalless performances in 2023.
The ten-year veteran has kicked 267 goals from 126 games with the Lions since returning to his home state from Adelaide ahead of the 2018 season.
