Former Richmond and Collingwood player and football personality Andrew Krakouer has died aged 42, according to reports.

Krakouer died of a suspected heart attack in Perth on Sunday, per reports on Monday.

He played 137 AFL games between the Tigers and Magpies, later going on to host leading Indigenous football talk show Yokayi Footy.

The son of North Melbourne great Jim Krakouer, Krakouer landed at Richmond with pick 41 in the 2000 national draft after beginning the elite football pathway in the WAFL setup.

Between AFL opportunities, he wrote himself into West Australian football folklore with a 40-disposal, four goal effort in Swan Districts WAFL Grand Final win over Claremont in 2010 - when he also collected the Sandover Medal as the league's best-and-fairest.
