Three new directors join the board of Indigenous Business Australia

Three new members have been appointed to the board of Indigenous Business Australia.

IBA's role is to advance the economic independence of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through business advice, home loans, tailored finance solutions and investment initiatives that aim to empower individuals and businesses.

The newly appointed board members - who will all serve as directors - announced Tuesday morning are Jessica Bulger, Bronwyn Dodd and Krista Dunstan.

Ms Bulger is a Wiradjuri woman from New South Wales and a Senior Fellow in the Practice of Management at the Australian National University, College of Business and Economics.

She was previously Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute and is an experienced not-for-profit executive with more than a decade of leadership advancing Indigenous governance, women in leadership and systemic reform.

Ms Dodd, a Ngarrindjeri woman from South Australia, has more than 20 years of leadership experience across banking, housing, health and community services.

She was previously National General Manager of Indigenous Banking at Westpac and Executive Director of Customers and Services at the South Australian Housing Authority.

Ms Dunstan, Noongar woman from Western Australia, has over 15 years' experience in law, governance and public policy,

Ms Dunstan is currently Chief Executive Officer of Port Hedland Industries Council. She has held senior roles in government and the corporate sector and has extensive board and strategic leadership experience across Aboriginal affairs and energy transition sectors.

The directors will serve on the board on a part-time basis for a period of four years.

Federal Minister for Indigenous Australians, Malarndirri McCarthy, congratulated Ms Bulger, Ms Dodd and Ms Dunstan on their appointments to the Board.

"Their diverse and extensive experience will support the important work of IBA and the self-determination and economic empowerment of First Nations families and communities," Senator McCarthy said.
