South Australian Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) have the opportunity to seek grants in Round 2 of SA's ACCO Grant Fund 2023-2024 (the ACCO Fund).
The ACCO Fund is part of the Closing the Gap initiative and is a collaboration between the South Australian Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation Network (SAACCON) and the SA Government.
A total of $2.8 million will be available for ACCOs through three funding rounds.
Eligible South Australian ACCOs can receive grants of up to $150,000 for projects that align with Priority Reform Two of the National Agreement Closing the Gap, which focuses on enhancing the Aboriginal Community Controlled Sector.
The grants aim to strengthen the capabilities and capacities of ACCOs to provide services and establish new initiatives, contributing to the goals of Closing the Gap.
These projects should also support areas outlined in the National Agreement's four priority sectors: Early Childhood Care and Development, Housing, Health, and Disability.
Round 2 acknowledges the difficulties that ACCOs in remote and regional parts of South Australia face in accessing support and funding opportunities.
To qualify for Round 2, ACCOs must be based in regional or remote South Australia, or in Adelaide but providing services to remote or regional Aboriginal communities.
Partnerships with ACCOs in these areas are also eligible.
Round 3 details, including priorities and dates, are yet to be determined and will be announced before the grant round begins.
