Queensland Firebirds star Donnell Wallam passed 1,000 Suncorp Super Netball career points on Sunday, arriving at the milestone in just her second season.
The 29-year-old goal shooter woman got there on her way to shooting 44 goals in her side's win over the Giants on Sunday.
Aptly, it came during the competition's first week of First Nations Round.
Last year, Wallam became the first Indigenous woman to play for the national team in over two decades, and just the third overall.
She scored the winning goal against England with seconds on the clock in a fairytale debut.
It came after the turbulent period of the Diamond's sponsorship fallout, in which Hancock Prospecting withdrew their support following a player revolt sparked by Wallam's concerns regarding racist comments made by the company's founder, Lang Hancock, in 1984.
The netball community and Australian sports fans rallied around Wallam after her inspiring start at international level.
It capped off a long journey to the top after taking alternative routes to carve a name out for herself in the sport.
Wallam was named in the Diamond's 2023-24 squad last month and is in the race to secure a spot in the squad for the Netball World Cup, beginning July 28 in South Africa.
Through the 2023 Super Netball season, Wallam has scored 521 goals at 87 percent accuracy at the net.
She sits second on the competition's goal scoring tally behind West Coast Fever's Jhaniele Fowler and 41 goals clear of Collingwood's Shimona Nelson in third with three games remaining in the regular season.
