Donnell Wallam has helped Australia reach Monday's netball Nations Cup final undefeated through the qualifying rounds of the tournament after a strong performance at shooter against Uganda overnight.
Wallam shot 31 goals from 33 attempts against the She-Cranes in Leeds on Sunday morning, with the final against hosts England to follow 24 hours later.
The 30-year-old had gone unused in the Diamonds opening two contests against the Roses and New Zealand before steering the world champions' win against the seventh-ranked Uganda.
The historic occasion marked the first-ever match between the two nations that had met on the netball court.
Uganda had pushed New Zealand and England in their opening two games without being able to secure a win.
After a tight first half, Australia broke free in the third quarter of the contest for a 63-49 win.
Wallam was rested in the third quarter.
Diamonds coach Stacey Marinkovich has spread game time amongst her entire 13-player touring squad throughout the tournament with decisions looming over who to start in Monday's final.
After six tests, Wallam has performed strongly when breaking into the team but regularly finds herself in a wrestle amongst Australia's goalscoring options as the only stay-at-home shooter in the squad.
Australia face England in a 2022 World Cup final rematch in the Nations Cup final on Monday morning.
