A collaboration between First Nations-led social enterprise Coolamon Baby and Australian clothing brand Bonds is set to launch next month.

The Bonds x Coolamon Baby collection — a nine-piece newborn collection which celebrates Aboriginal mothering, Culture, and Country — fuses trusted, everyday babywear with First Nations-led design and storytelling.

Building on Bonds' longstanding support of Coolamon Community, the collaboration extends far beyond the product, creating a national platform to share the organisation's story, raise awareness and directly support its ongoing impact.

At the heart of the new partnership is a shared commitment to ensuring all mothers and babies get the strongest start in life.

Coolamon Community works through partnerships with Aboriginal health services to provide Coolamon bundles, curated collections of practical essentials, to Aboriginal mothers and babies across regional and remote Australia, helping families welcome their newborns safely and confidently.

While Coolamon Community currently supports approximately 1,000 births each year, its goal is to reach every Aboriginal mother and baby in regional and remote Australia.

Coolamon Baby operates as the self-sustaining social enterprise funding this mission, directing 100 per cent of profits back into Coolamon Community.

Every item purchase from the collaborative collection helps fund a Coolamon bundle, creating a direct connection between everyday purchases and tangible support for Aboriginal mothers and babies.

"Partnering with Bonds is a huge milestone for us - every purchase directly funds our Coolamon bundles, helping us reach even more Aboriginal mums in regional and remote communities with essential care for their bubs," Coolamon Baby founder Evie Wood said.

"Having Nickolla's story and artwork woven into these pieces makes the whole collection feel deeply connected to the communities that we serve."

The creative foundation of the nine-piece collection features two original commissioned artworks by Nickolla Clark, a young Arakwal woman of the Bundjalung nation from Byron Bay, NSW.

Clark began painting at age 13 under the guidance of her Nan, Elder Dulcie Nicholls (dec), who passed down cultural knowledge about Country and the principle of taking from and giving back to Country.

Clark's practice uses fine rows of dots and lines to depict ancestral Country, journeys, waterholes, and ceremonial sites.

Translated thoughtfully onto fabric to honour the integrity and authorship of the original pieces, the artworks explore themes of motherhood, connection, and care. Grounded in natural tones of land, sky, and sea, the range offers timeless, wearable pieces connected to Country.

"Art for me has always been about passing down stories and keeping that deep connection to Country alive - designing these pieces was all about celebrating Aboriginal motherhood, birthing on Country in our sacred waterways and that deep love for family," Clark said.

"Knowing this range actually gives back to mums and newborns across the country makes it so special to be part of."

Bonds head of marketing, Kedda Ghazarian, said the brand is thrilled to launch this new collection and celebrate Aboriginal mothers and babies in care.

"Bonds has always believed that the smallest humans deserve the biggest beginnings. Our collaboration with Coolamon Baby is about more than beautiful newborn pieces - it's about helping wrap Aboriginal mothers and babies in care, dignity and cultural connection from their very first days," she said.

"Nickolla's artwork brings Country, community and motherhood into every stitch, and we're proud to help carry that story further."

The nine-piece newborn collection brings together premium, everyday baby staples with First Nations storytelling, offering quality parents trust and meaning they can feel.

The Bonds x Coolamon Baby collection is available from Wednesday November 4 online and in select Bonds Kids stores nationwide.
