A 47-year-old man has been charged over the alleged supply of methamphetamine, cannabis and cocaine across Mparntwe / Alice Springs, including in six town camps.
Northern Territory Police said detectives from the Southern Drug Investigation Unit arrested the man on Friday morning at a town camp on Lovegrove Drive in Araluen.
The arrest followed what police described as an extensive investigation, launched in December 2025, into the flow of dangerous drugs through Mparntwe / Alice Springs and its town camps.
He is accused of possessing and supplying commercial quantities of methamphetamine and cannabis, as well as less than a commercial quantity of cocaine.
Additional charges include possession of a drug precursor, unauthorised liquor sales, unlawful possession of property, dangerous driving during a police pursuit, driving while disqualified and property damage.
Police said he was due to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on Monday.
The arrest comes after residents in one Mparntwe / Alice Springs town camp spoke out about alleged methamphetamine dealing, a surge in outside traffic, intimidation and a growing sense of fear.
Long-term Akngwertnarre/Morris Soak residents and Elders told National Indigenous Times the camp no longer felt safe, recalling a time when the area was quieter and more secure.
Anyone with information about the supply or distribution of illicit substances has been urged to contact NT police on 131 444.
Anonymous reports can be made through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
