After her second stellar performance in as many starts, Swans draftee Zippy Fish has been named the round two AFLW Rising Star nominee.
Fish, 19, collected 27 touches and went at 80-plus per cent efficiency with the ball in Sydney's historic 82-point demolition of the Gold Coast on Saturday afternoon.
It came off the back of notching her own piece of history in round one, equalling the AFLW's all-time number of disposals by a debutante with 26 against Richmond at North Sydney Oval.
Fish now co-hold's the record set by Carlton's Bri Davey in the competition's first ever game in 2017.
The Pilbara-born talent, taken with pick five in last year's draft after two impressive years with East Fremantle in the WAFLW, came into the competition as a highly-touted ball-user, and has earned high praise from the Swans set up two games into her career.
"We've been really pleased with what Zippy has shown in her first season, and she is very deserving of a Rising Star nomination," Swans coach Scott Gowans said on Monday.
"Her composure and run off half-back have been very impressive, and she makes great decisions with the footy.
"She's got a great team-first mentality, and we're really excited for her future and what she can continue to produce."
Much like round one, Fish again found the footy and directed Sydney's movement up the ground off the half-back flank with a willingness to hit precise targets with dangerous use by foot.
She's already a go-to kick-in option.
Fish reeled in eight intercept possessions against the Suns on Saturday, the same afternoon her side became the fourth ever to lodge 100 points in a match and Swans star Chloe Molloy equalled the all-time record for goals kicked by a player with 7.4 in front of the sticks.
A week earlier, Fish told Fox's coverage she's not the type to be overwhelmed by the new attention on her game.
"I don't really get nervous for anything, really. So I just went out and did my thing," Fish said post her debut.
"I've come in and the girls have made it like a second home. It's been great."
Fish raked in the rewards for a dominant year in 2024.
The teenager ended the East Freo's season as club best and fairest, with selection in the WAFLW team of the year and a second-place finish in the league's top individual honour, the Dhara Kerr medal, finishing just one vote behind back-to-back winner Jayme Harken.
