The 2025 Murri Women's Softball Tournament concluded in Logan on Sunday after a vibrant weekend of competition, culture and connection.
Twenty teams competed across five divisions, with gold medals awarded to five champions.
Wanyi and Kalkadoon woman, Aunty Kylie Hill said the weekend showcased both sporting talent and community spirit.

"We don't get to come together much as women – we even had the men running around for us, which was deadly," she said.
"It was pure sportsmanship... My daughter had her first game ever on the diamond and hit a double play in her first game."

The tournament, now in its 11th year, is known for its family and community-based team structure.
While most sides came from the South West and South East Queensland regions, organisers say there are plans to expand further north.
"Majority of the teams come from the Southwest or South East, so we're looking to branch out to Bundy, Rocky, Mackay with the backing of the councils," Aunty Kylie said.

Yugumbeh and Bundjalung man and Logan City Mustangs president David Hill praised the sense of unity throughout the event.
"The best thing is everyone got together – the atmosphere and energy levels were so high and powerful," he said.
"For us as an association, we did a good job with the community – even the Mayor came along and was outspoken about how everyone came together as a community."
Organisers are now considering regional locations such as Bundaberg or Rockhampton for next year's tournament. Additional financial support will be needed to help make that expansion a reality.
