Liam Jones will end his time at the Bulldogs as a premiership player in the club's VFL setup and will look to keep his AFL career alive at a new home after being delisted this week.
Jones, 34, played 110 senior games for the Bulldogs across two stints.
The Tasmanian was drafted to the club in 2008 and spent seven seasons with Carlton between 2015-2021 before returning to the Kennel ahead of the 2023 season.
Injury interrupted Jones' start to 2025, and managed five AFL appearances this year.
He lifted the VFL premiership cup with Footscray on Sunday in a 10-point win over Southport, alongside Indigenous teammate Arthur Jones.
Jones is expected to look and extend his 200 game AFL career with another club, the Bulldogs said on Tuesday.
"We've been having open dialogue with Liam and his management during the back half of the season and while he won't be offered a contract at the Club, he'll explore his options in the AFL over the coming weeks," Dogs executive manager of men's football Sam Power said.
"Liam has been a consistent and courageous player for our Club over more than a decade, leading by example on and off the field.
"We understand his desire to play on at another club and wish him nothing but the best for the future."
According to reports this week, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan is also set to look for a new home next year following his exit meeting at the Bulldogs.
Ugle-Hagan did not play a match at any level in 2025.
The Bulldogs did not formally move to show the former no.1 draft pick the door, but will reportedly look towards the upcoming trade period to find the key forward, still with one year remaining on his contract, a new home for next year.
Sydney have previously been linked to Ugle-Hagan.
According to reports on Wednesday morning Gold Coast have emerged as a potential suitor.
At the Pies, tall forward Ash Johnson has been delisted amongst four changes made after the club's preliminary final loss at the weekend.

Johnson made 27 AFL appearances across three seasons after arriving as a mid-season draft recruit in 2021.
He did not play a senior game in 2025 after his own injuries limited his availability.
Johnson kicked mutliple goals in all but two of his first seven AFL games, hitting the scoresheet on each occasion, including a four-major effort against the Dees, in his debut year.
He played in all three of Collingwood's finals in 2022.
His most consistent year came in 2023, running out for 15 AFL games before struggling for form last year.
Johnson was delisted at the end of 2024, but reselected in the rookie draft.
