Yorta Yorta man Jeremy Finlayson put on a dominant display in round six, kicking 5.2 in Port Adelaide's 40-point win over West Coast on Saturday.

It was the 27-year-old's best display across his four games in 2023, adding the bulk of his score as the Power got to task pushing the Eagles out of the contest either side of halftime.

Finlayson got on the board early by kicking the opening goal of the contest, and later booted two majors in the second period.

His fourth, a hooping left-foot snap from almost fifty, just after the main break swelled the margin out past forty points.

The Eagles were unable to recover any real ascendancy in the match.

In his first appearance against his former side, Port recruit Junior Rioli also made his presence known.

The former premiership Eagles kicked two goals, including a silky right-foot snap from the wrong pocket to reinstate a major buffer for the Power five minutes out from three-quarter time.

Finalyson added one more for an even handful early in the final term.

His only other additions to Port's scoreline in 2023 came with a three-goal effort against Sydney in round four, where he kicked three goals in the comeback win, including the final major for his side to snatch victory.

After the match, Finlayson became emotional as he spoke about his partner Kellie's battle with lung cancer, just months after finishing her treatment for bowel cancer.

In a positive for the visitors, Tim Kelly's explosion back into form seen from him in previous seasons continues.

In an otherwise tough afternoon for the Eagles, Kelly racked up 34 disposals, eight clearances and five tackles in the effort to keep his side in it.

The 28-year-old is stringing together the best season of his career, averaging 29 touches a game so far in 2023.

In his breakout season with Geelong in 2019, before the move back home to Western Australia, Kelly averaged 25 touches a game.
