NSW Aboriginal Land Council chief executive Yuseph Deen has highlighted the vital importance of active participation in influencing the future of Aboriginal communities in New South Wales ahead of the Council election this Saturday.
"Elections only come around every four years, and they present a vital opportunity for our members to have their voices heard and their votes counted," said Mr Deen.
"This democratic process is fundamental to the principles of self-determination and community empowerment."
The NSWALC election is a crucial opportunity for members to choose representatives dedicated to advocating for their interests and Aboriginal rights statewide.
Mr Deen urged all eligible voters to exercise their democratic right, emphasising the significance of making their voices count in this high-stakes election.
"Our democracy thrives when every Member of our community actively participates in the electoral process," Mr Deen said.
"I urge all LALC Members to engage with the candidates, familiarise themselves with their platforms, and cast their votes on election day."
In promoting informed decision-making, the NSWALC website offers comprehensive candidate bios and details about polling places.
