Tarryn Thomas has returned to football via North Melbourne's VFL program.
On Tuesday the Kangaroos confirmed the embattled 23-year-old has re-entered their footy setup club per recommendation from specialists involved in his behavioural training following a string of allegations regarding his conduct towards a number of women surfacing.
North Melbourne said the advice received is that Thomas benefits from being within a structured environment.
"Based on expert advice, supported by our own observations, and after building a new plan that will see him working and training with our VFL program, we'll provide Tarryn with the structure he needs to give him every opportunity to demonstrate the required standards of behaviour," North Melbourne chief executive Jennifer Watt said via a club statement.
Thomas was stood down from the club last month following fresh allegations following initial claims from a number of women earlier in the year.
He had previously returned to their VFL program after a stint away amid the claims.
Through a turbulent six month period, the Kangaroo had also been charged by police with threatening to distribute an intimate image - which he has signalled an intent to contest in the coming months, was caught driving without a licence over Christmas.
More recently, Thomas received negative attention following the social media footage capturing him driving dangerously caught the attention of club officials last week.
The latest incident has resulted in a $5,000 club fine with an additional $5,000 to be donated to a road safety charity.
A timeline for Thomas' return to football initially remained unclear, and at times unlikely altogether after North voiced their dissatisfaction with the progress made in the behavioural program.
His participation in the training will continue, alongside part-time work.
"Tarryn has now been away from the club for a total of eight weeks across this year, and he has engaged in a series of education and training programs during that time," said Watt.
"We have made it clear to Tarryn that the future of his playing career at North Melbourne is in his hands."
Thomas can be considered for a return to match play in the VFL should he make "adequate progress" towards club on and off-field expectations.
