Tarryn Thomas in hot water again as fresh social media footage emerges

Footage of a video shared to close mates online of Tarryn Thomas driving to Sydney at night with his feet on the dashboard of a Mercedes while on forced leave has come to the attention of North Melbourne officials.

The club reiterated following the incident that Thomas "has not made adequate progress towards" towards returning to Arden Street.

Thomas is serving a suspension over recent allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards women in addition to a number of traffic offences.

The private social media post that has since been deleted on Wednesday appeared to have featured the 23-year-old dangerously drifting down the wrong side of the road.

The vehicle, which was being driven between two lanes of the highway was captioned on an Instagram post "Living my best life" followed by two 'tears of joy' emojis.

The driving incidents that include earlier charges from Victoria Police comes after he allegedly left his junior football club in more than $3000 of debt over smash repairs.

Thomas allegedly damaged a borrowed club car from the North Launceston Football Club, where he started his junior career, soon after being drafted into the AFL and leaving for Melbourne, the National Indigenous Times can reveal.

The talented midfielder has allegedly not paid a cent back, according to a representative from his grassroots club that gave him his senior debut in the State League, aged just 16, two years earlier.

Just days before the Instagram post, Thomas also agreed to conduct a TV interview on his own terms.

North Melbourne did not authorise its player to speak to the media unsolicited and is believed not to be aware that the TV report went to air.

"I'm doing everything I can to get back," Thomas said in the interview.

"The club is helping and directing me well.

"A lot of people outside of the club is trying to get help. The club is doing an amazing job for me."

The latest set of controversies has put the career of exiled Kangaroos star in jeopardy.

"North Melbourne is aware of a social media post by Tarryn Thomas from Monday night," the club said in a statement.

"Thomas has been away from the AFL program for the past three weeks – and will continue to spend time away from the club.

"The club continues to assess Thomas' progress towards meeting club and community expectations."

North Melbourne has felt compelled to stand down the Lumaranatana and Kamilaroi man three weeks ago after allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards multiple women were made against him.

The club added in the statement that Thomas had not made "sufficient" progress to address the fresh claims from multiple women in the respectful behaviour program.

That development followed Thomas being asked to leave preseason training over the allegations of threats of violence against the women.

Police had initially charged the troubled player in January of threatening to distribute an intimate image.

Thomas has indicated that he intends to fight the case that has been adjourned until July 18, to be held in a Broadmeadows court.
