Shai Bolton's first appearance since crossing to the Dockers is set to be against his new teammates after confirmation of his selection in the Indigenous All Stars squad for February's AFL season curtain raiser.

Fremantle captain and Palawa man Alex Pearce is also destined to channel training match-ups against his own forward targets at Optus Stadium as one of four new additions to Xavier Clarke's side.

Premiership Lions Charlie Cameron and Callum Ah Chee, 2023 Norm Smith medallist Bobby Hill, Dees livewire Kysaiah Pickett, Eagles flyer Liam Ryan and St Kilda veteran Bradley Hill and Freo favourite Michael Walters were named in the squad inclusions last week.

They're joined by Adelaide's Izak Rankine and Hawthorn rebounding defender Jarman Impey, who were confirmed on Wednesday.

Impey said he's looking forward "representing my people and being a part of the team".

It will be 10 years since the last All Stars fixture when the competition's elite First Nations talent come together in Perth.

After 135 games and two premierships with Richmond, Bolton landed at Freo on a five-year contract in the post season trade period.

Back in his home state, the 26-year-old is keen to link up with new teammates, and an idol, for an opportunity he's wanted since teenage years.

"I'm very excited, it's a game that I've always wanted to play. I've watched a lot of my idols play in them like Adam Goodes, and I'm just excited to finally be a part of one," Bolton said.

"I went to the last game in Perth in 2015, it was really enjoyable and fun to watch. With all the brothers there, it will be a good week. We've got a bit of a camp before the game as well, all the boys will love it I reckon.

"Obviously I'll be playing with Son Son (Walters) for the first time – he's another one of my idols.

"It will be really fun, all the boys will be there, my family will be in the stands and I just can't wait to play."

Walters had similar words back in October, saying "playing alongside super stars of the competition that I may not get to play with if it wasn't for this opportunity," is a major carrot, as well as an early link up with Bolton.

A calf injury rubbed 'Sonny' out of the All Stars game in 2025.

"As a young kid, you aspired and dreamed of playing in these sorts of games. I used to watch Andrew McLeod and the Davey brothers running around up in Darwin when they were playing in this game," Walters told media.

The Indigenous All Stars play Fremantle at Optus Stadium on February 15.
