Murdoch University in Boorloo/Perth has appointed Jordan Ah Chee as a lecturer in the School of Indigenous Knowledges, where he will lead the Two-Way Science unit.

Mr Ah Chee has family connections to the Bindjareb, Wardandi, Palyku, Yawuru and Nyikina peoples.

The Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre said his teaching will bridge Indigenous and Western knowledge systems in the classroom.

"Jordan is passionate about bringing together Indigenous and Western knowledge systems to create meaningful learning experiences for students," the centre said.

Mr Ah Chee plans to weave Indigenous scientific knowledge through university courses and consult local communities to keep material culturally relevant.

His interests span education, STEM outreach, and Indigenous astronomy, including research into Noongar astronomy and songlines.

The Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre said Mr Ah Chee believed learning was strengthened through "conversation, connection and curiosity".

Students can join his Two-Way Science unit or connect with him at the Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre.

"Jordan is here to support students on their learning journey and encourage deeper engagement with Indigenous science, knowledge systems and ways of understanding the world," the centre said.
