Police are appealing for public assistance to find a 22-year-old Aboriginal woman missing from South Hedland, in Western Australia's Pilbara region.

Marika Shirley Parker was last seen walking along Great Northern Highway in South Hedland about 3pm on Thursday, July 16.

South Hedland Police said they held concerns for her welfare.

Ms Parker is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, 164 centimetres tall, with a solid build and pink or red hair.

She was last seen wearing a maroon short-sleeved shirt and black shorts with a white stripe, and was not wearing shoes.

Police have asked members of the public who has seen Ms Parker, knows where she is, or may have given her a lift to contact police immediately on 131 444 and quote CAD 525652.
