Lions forward Charlie Cameron has been handed a three-week ban for a tackle which saw Eagles co-captain Liam Duggan subbed out with concussion on Sunday afternoon.

The back of Duggan's head made contact with the turf at the end of a front-on tackle by Cameron early in the second term of the Eagles-Lions clash at Optus Stadium.

He left the ground on his feet, and was replaced by West Coast sub Tyler Brockman.

Duggan is set to miss the Eagles next match with St Kilda as a result of the knock.

On Monday, it was confirmed the Match Review Officer has graded the incident careless conduct and high contact with a severe impact rating - for a three-match sanction for Cameron.

The Brisbane favourite had also kicked his 300th goal for the club in the 13-point win for his side.

In April, 'exceptional and compelling' helped clear Cameron of a one-game ban for a dumping tackle on Melbourne's Jake Lever following an unconventional tribunal hearing which included character references from Eddie Betts and Elder Gregory Egert.

Speaking post-match, Brisbane coach Chris Fagan - who at the time said he had not seen the incident, made a case for Cameron's innocence.

Fagan also pointed to a lack of reaction from the Eagles players and fans in response to Cameron's tackle.

"What I do know is that most AFL games I've been to where a tackle is laid that the crowd don't like, they let the guy that did it know, and the opposition players the same," Fagan said.

"Nobody remonstrated...they usually pile in, don't they? The opposition players, or the West Coast players in this instance, would probably remonstrate with Charlie, but nobody did that. So I find that probably a positive indicator, but I haven't seen it.

When quizzed on the likelihood of suspension after a player is concussed, Fagan added "It shouldn't, though, because sometimes there are accidents".

"There's guys that get concussed in this game (where) the player that participated in the incident doesn't get reported...it's not a given.

"It would be sad if our game comes to that. I mean, accidents happen. I don't know whether it was an accident or not, so we'll have to wait and see."

Cameron was one of four sanctioned by the MRO for the match, with Dayne Zorko, Harley Reid and Zane Trew all receiving fines for separate incidents.

At the Suns, Malcolm Rosas Jr has copped a one-match ban for striking Port Adelaide's Logan Evans on Sunday.

Rosas appeared to catch Evans' neck with an elbow while running past the mark.
