Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley has put his faith in forward Jeremy Finlyason to work his way back into their side after recent form forced him out of the Power's lineup to face GWS on Sunday.
Speaking to media earlier this week, Hinkley was frank with the reason behind his omission, opting to take a fresh-faced forward line into the top eight clash.
Veteran Charlie Dixon - who has also been managed for game time through the first half of 2024, joins Finlayson as outs based on their output.
"Jeremy played sub last game...his form's been off. It hasn't been where it needs to be. Mitch (Georgiades) is in really good nick, Todd (Marshall)...I think it's the first time we've actually got a chance to probably see the younger full forwards go at it together this year," Hinkley said.
Hinkley knocked back any suggestions Finlayson's slide was a hangover linked to his earlier ban.
"I think Jeremy's in a reasonably good spot emotionally, it's just his form. But people just have bad runs of form sometimes...you just got to get back to work and work hard and turn it around. And I'm really confident both boys (Finlayson and Dixon) can do that," he said.
Lachie Jones, after two games on return from injury, was also left out of the side to face the Giants.
Earning his first selection for the year is 2023 midseason draft selection Quinton Narkle.
The former Cat kicked four goals in three games between rounds 14-17.
Narkle is set for his first senior game of the season despite modest SANFL form across four games on the Power's bench.
The 26-year-old had his own injury setback with a foot issue earlier in the year.
Cross-town rivals Adelaide will enjoy the return of Izak Rankine to face the ladder-leading Swans after a period away with hamstring troubles.
The Crows play Sydney on Saturday night.
