In a closing runway fit for royalty, Melbourne Fashion Festival officially came to an end on Saturday night with Paul McCann's magnificent designs doing the final walk of the festival.

Both Ngali and Paul McCann showed designs from their label to close the show.

This marks a big 12 months for Ngali founder and designer, Wiradjuri woman Denni Francisco.

After debuting a collection at Australian Fashion Week in May 2022 she then went on to win a second National Indigenous Fashion Award in a row.

During this year's festival, Francisco debuted a new collection from Ngali featuring a new iteration of prints she's become so well known for.

In the end, it was Marrithiyel designer Paul McCann who closed the show with his signature couture designs.

Tiwi model Cassie Puruntatameri and Kamilaroi presenter Matty Mills completed the final walk in two new creations by McCann, commissioned by the festival.

Like the Poseidon and Amphitrite, Mills and Puruntatameri were dressed in a black suit with royal blue accents and a spectacular blue organza gown.

As they completed their final walk, the crowd roared as Melbourne Fashion Festival came to a close for 2023.
