Minjerribah Camping will reopen 322 campsites this weekend after an extended repair and assessment program prompted by the damage left behind by Tropical Cyclone Alfred earlier this year.
The cyclone brought strong winds, large swells and unstable tides across Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island), forcing the closure of all beach camping areas in March.
Park alerts at the time warned of hazardous erosion, fallen trees and submerged debris and the island's foreshore areas were deemed unsafe for visitors.
A staged restoration effort has been underway since, including an earlier limited reopening of parts of Main Beach during the year.
The full reopening of sites across Main and Flinders Beaches will begin on Saturday following detailed safety checks.

Quandamooka man, Minjerribah Camping board member and QYAC Chair, Cameron Costello, said the severe weather left significant erosion along dunes, access tracks and walkways.
"The wild cyclonic weather, which was then followed by heavy rain, caused a lot of damage on the island - causing dangerous erosion all along the sand dunes, nearby tracks and walkways," Mr Costello said.
He notes the decision to close the camping areas was made after authorities assessed the area as a safety risk for the public.
"The whole area was deemed a safety risk which is why we temporarily closed the campsites sites and started a comprehensive restoration program to ensure they were safe and fully-operational," he said.
"After a considerable amount of heavy machinery works involving Minjerribah Camping and QYAC crews and the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) we are pleased to report that all 322 campsites have been fully-assessed and deemed safe for the return of campers, just in time for the Christmas holiday break.
"We would like to thank QPWS and QYAC for their assistance and advice during this period and we look to welcoming back visitors to Minjerribah Camping."
Minjerribah Camping provides six campgrounds at Dunwich, Amity Point and Point Lookout, along with 200 4WD-accessible sites on Flinders Beach and 300 on the southern end of Main Beach.
