A man accused of murdering his wife in the remote Northern Territory town of Lajamanu in October has appeared in court for the first time.
Bohas White, 46, allegedly stabbed his 42-year-old wife in what was the seventh alleged domestic violence-related homicide in the Top End since the beginning of July.
On Tuesday, NT News reported Mr White appeared before Darwin Local Court, 85 days after the alleged stabbing of his long-term partner.
Mr White appeared for a first mention before Judge Greg MacDonald, where his case was adjourned until March 12.
In October, an NT Police spokesperson said a large crowd had gathered around a local clinic where the critically injured woman had been taken at about 6.20pm on Monday, October 14.
Not long after police attended the scene, the woman was declared dead, the spokesperson said.
In the aftermath, the 46-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by unknown community members.
Mr White was arrested nearby after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time, NT Police Assistant Commissioner Travis Wurst said the woman's long-term relationship with Mr White would form part of the investigation, as well as a report for the coroner.
He has been kept in custody since the arrest, despite not being charged, after breaching his parole, having previously been jailed for aggravated assault in 2022.
