Four people have died after a fatal collision in East Arnhem Land, near the Yirrkala Community, early on Wednesday morning.
NT Police said a vehicle was reported to be driving dangerously in the vicinity of Yirrkala Community at around 7.15am.
Not long after, the vehicle - a Toyota Corolla - was involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota Prado on Gunyipinya Road.
It came after police had received reports at 6.45am of a break-in at a Nhulunbuy property where the grey Corolla had been stolen.
Four people were confirmed dead at the scene, three in the Corolla and one in the Prado, NT Police said.
A second occupant of the Prado suffered minor injuries.
Formal identification of the victims is yet to occur.

NT Police said a crime scene has been established, with the Major Crash Investigation Unit travelling to the area to investigate.
The Gunyipinya Road is expected to be closed for an extended period of time.
Yirrkala is a coastal community in the East Arnhem region of the NT, about 18kms south-east of Nhulunbuy.
It has a population of 657, 524 of whom identify as Aboriginals and/or Torres Strait Islander as per the last census.
Police urged anyone who witnessed the grey Toyota Corolla driving dangerously in the area to call 131 444.
