Malcolm Rosas Jr has found a new home as an early mover in this year's trade period, with the now former Sun landing at Sydney.
The Rembarrnga and Ngalakan forward nominated the Swans as his preferred destination after signalling his desire for a trade last month.
With hopes he proves a "point of difference" at their scoring end, Sydney bring in Rosas with pick 62 in this year's national draft in exchange for picks 51 and 69 going to Gold Coast.
"It's great that Malcolm has selected our football club and we are excited to have completed the trade today with the Gold Coast," Swans general manager of AFL football Leon Cameron said.
"We believe Malcolm will complement our current forward line with his ability to run and carry and will provide a point of difference."
The speedy goalsneak featured in just four senior games for the Suns in 2025, a seven the year prior, having gone out of favour alongside injury interruptions after a breakout season in 2023.
"Malcolm had expressed a desire to explore other opportunities, and we were happy to help facilitate the trade to provide him with greater opportunity," Gold Coast player talent and strategy manager Craig Cameron said on Tuesday.
"We would like to thank Malcolm for everything he has given to our football club throughout the past five seasons."
Rosas, 24, made 49 appearances at AFL level for the Suns between 2021-2025 having been picked up as a rookie selection out of the NTFL and club's Darwin Academy zone.
He played fifteen VFL games for the Gold Coast this year - including a four goal performance against Richmond late in the season.
Sydney are in the market for a marking forward this year's trade period, meaning Rosas might not be the only new inclusion into their front end.
According to reports this week, the potential of two-time Coleman Medallist Charlie Curnow landing in the harbour city has re-warmed, though it doesn't present as a simple task.
Sydney list strategy head Chris Keane confirmed the club's interest and intent to explore Curnow as an option speaking to Trade Radio this week, though conceded the club would have to enter negotiations with Carlton.
