Matildas gun Mary Fowler will take some red-hot form to the SheBelieves Cup later in February after slamming home another two goals for Manchester City and propelling her team in to the League Cup final.
Fowler was recalled to the national squad for the four-match tournament in the USA after taking a mental health break during the international window at the end of 2024, a move which has paid dividends.
Coming off two goals in a league defeat to Arsenal just last weekend, Fowler missed a penalty in the semi-final against the Gunners, having opened the scoring for her team in the 26th minute.
But she hit back with a 95th minute goal to provide City the 2-1 win needed to advance to the final against Chelsea.
Fowler has scored six goals in the WSL this season - two more than she did across 21 appearances last season.
"[It was] something to be really proud of," she said of City's win.
"Arsenal always put up a good fight and they played well tonight.

"I'm super proud of the girls and how we played and just happy to get the win.
"I was really happy. I felt mostly relief, but I was super happy, I've been wanting to win something with the girls for so long so to be a step closer to doing that is really exciting."
The final against Chelsea in March will be Fowler's first for City and a rematch of the 2022 League Cup final, which Fowlers team won 3-1 a
"Yeah, I'm really excited for that. I haven't played in a final yet with the girls, so it'll be a new feeling for me here," she said.
"But I think we're ready for it, and I'm just super pumped for it."
