Fresh off returning to Yolŋu Country to headline Garma and days before taking the stage at the 2026 National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAs), on Thursday Baker Boy revealed details of DJANDJAY (Deluxe) and an intimate live event at Metro Social in Sydney on August 20, presented by Vodafone Music.
Sharing the 'final chapter' to his acclaimed sophomore album, DJANDJAY (Deluxe) will be released on Friday August 21 via Island Records/Universal Music Australia.
The expanded 17-track edition adds two previously unreleased songs 'YOLŊU FEVER' and 'DISAPPEAR' feat. BVTalongside the recently released 'CURSE'.
To celebrate the DJANDJAY (Deluxe) release, Baker Boy is giving fans the first chance to hear new music live at a free event presented by Vodafone Music.
The intimate event forms part of Vodafone Music, a new platform designed to bring customers closer to the artists and music they love through exclusive gigs, ticket giveaways and unique experiences, creating memorable connections between fans and music and culture.
Having recently wrapped up his national DJANDJAY Tour, Baker Boy shared just how thrilled he is to release his new album.
"I'm excited to give fans the chance to hear the new tracks from DJANDJAY Deluxe live for the very first time before release," he said.
"It's special for me to play new music live for the first time in an intimate setting and really connect with some of my biggest fans."
For Baker Boy, the deluxe edition was far from an afterthought. It is the final chapter of an album that continued to evolve once it left the studio and entered the live space.
"Releasing a deluxe can feel like an afterthought, for me, it was more about time and space with the music; it was about building the live show and performing the tracks, and I just kept coming back to three demos that felt like they lived in the world of DJANDJAY, I couldn't leave them behind, I can't take them into the next era," he said.
"They make DJANDJAY whole.
"Working on an album is a weird process; you create so many demos and ideas, and it gets to a point where you have to let most of them go, I had easy 100 plus demos for DJANDJAY, but some tracks just need more space and that time away from the studio really opened me up to what the final three tracks needed."
Today's announcement comes as Baker Boy prepares for the NIMAs, leading the nominations across the ceremony's biggest categories.
With nine previous NIMA wins under his belt including Album of the Year for his debut, GELA, Baker Boy will be returning to the stage at Darwin Amphitheatre on Saturday night to celebrate some of the country's most exciting Indigenous artists.
