Indigenous All Stars coach Xavier Clarke's has been dealt additional injury headaches with Shai Bolton no certainty to be available for the match following a calf setback at training last week.

Bolton was sent for scans over the weekend which revealed a minor calf strain, the Dockers confirmed on Tuesday.

The club's marquee recruit across the summer will be on "lighter duties" ahead of returning to training next week.

Fremantle added Bolton will be a test to switch allegiances and feature for the Indigenous All Stars next Saturday night.

Bolton was an early confirmation to the squad for the team of the competition's best First Nations players' return after a decade.

Following the full 31-man squad announcement on Monday, Clarke was handed an early blow when defensive end tall Liam Jones was ruled out of the game, and for up to a few months, with a high-grade hamstring strain.

Jones suffered the injury during Bulldogs match simulation in Queensland on Sunday.

The Dogs expect the 33-year-old to return full training in 8-10 weeks.

Earlier on Monday, Bolton's club skipper Alex Pearce eased fears around his availability for the Indigenous All Stars after tweaking his ankle in previous days.

Pearce is one of three Dockers in the mix to compete against their own teammates for the curtain-raiser, with veteran Michael Walters also in the squad.

"It's good. I'm going to do some training tomorrow, hopefully play the intra-club on Friday. ..should be good for the Alls Stars game, which I'm very excited for," he said on Monday.

The Palawa man was earlier confirmed to continue as Fremantle captain in 2025.
