Proud Palawa man Alex Pearce will remain the Fremantle Dockers sole captain for 2025.
The 29-year-old will become just the fourth player to lead the WA-based club for three consecutive seasons.
Ahead of the 2023 season, he took the reins as Dockers captain, becoming the eighth Indigenous man to lead a VFL/AFL team in more than a century of the competition.
Executive General Manager of Football Joe Brierty said Pearce's reappointment as captain reflects the club's confidence in his ability to guide the team on and off the field.
"Alex's leadership continues to grow and his values, work ethic and ability to inspire his teammates shows why he should continue to lead our Club," he said.
"Alex embodies our trademark and the respect he commands among his peers and the coaching group was once again reflected in the voting process.
"In addition to Alex, it's great to see his deputies Andy and Caleb continue to grow as leaders and be acknowledged by their peers for the dedication and commitment they display in all aspects of their football."
Pearce will continue to be supported by co-vice captains Andrew Brayshaw and Caleb Serong.
The key defender was due to be out of contract at the end of the 2025 season before signing a two-year extension this January.
At the time, he told Fremantle media he was enjoying his footy as much as he ever had.
"Where I am at the moment with my role and the people we've got around the footy club…I just really love spending time with (the playing group, coaches and staff), and really love working towards achieving something really special," he said.
Before next pulling on the Dockers' jumper, Pearce will run out against teammates with the Indigenous All-Stars in Perth on February 15.
Pearce said "It'll be interesting" to see how fan allegiance plays out for himself and Dockers' Indigenous All-Stars squad members Shai Bolton and Michael Walters on the night.
"It'll just be a good celebration, and to have that Indigenous team all together playing, I think it'll be a good spectacle and I hope that plenty of people come out and watch," he said.
A Palawa man from Tassie's north-west, Pearce was on a plane to the other side of the country within days of being picked up by the Dockers with pick 13 of the national draft.
