More Test cricket appears on the horizon for Worimi quick Brendan Doggett following his Ashes debut this summer after earning his first full Cricket Australia contract.
Doggett, 31, earned his first baggy green in November, helping Australia to a 2-nil lead against England.
In the process he became the fifth ever Indigenous player (third male) to play Test cricket, pairing with Scott Boland, who has retained his CA contract, in a historic first for the sport.
Their inclusion together in the bowling group was the first time two Indigenous players had featured together in the Test XI.
Each year CA offers contracts to 20-24 male players expected to feature in international fixtures across all formats, solidifying a retainer salary plus match payments.
Remuneration falls either side of $1 million - including domestic duties, per the latest collective bargaining agreement, called Memorandum of Understanding, between the sport's national governing body and Australian Cricketers' Association.

Fellow recent Test debutant Jake Weatherald joins Doggett as a first timer on the contract list.
Young opener Sam Konstas, pace bowlers Lance Morris, Jhye Richardson white ball batter Matt Short, allrounder Glenn Maxwell and retired veteran Usman Khawaja were not renewed from last year's list.
It's a red-ball loaded 21 player contracted list.

Just over two years ago, international cricket was an ambition for the domestic level regular, who at that stage had been around selected squads without a call-up in any format.
This was 12 months out from a dominant 2024/25 Sheffield Shield campaign helping South Australia to their first title in three decades.
"There's always the ambition to play for Australia, regardless of the format...there's some pretty skillful T20 specialist bowlers out there...there's a few people in front of me but you'd never never turn (it) down," he said in December 2023.
Doggett ended his summer sidelined with a hamstring injury ruling him out of South Australia's successful Shield defence.
Australia have 13 Tests scheduled in the next 12 months, hosting Bangladesh in September before tours to South Africa and India either side of a four-match home series against New Zealand.
