2022 is drawing to a close, so it's time to consciously make time to reflect, pause and reset for the pending new year, which is inching closer by the day and allows us to reflect on the wins and losses experienced throughout the year in order to prepare for the impending one ahead!

Start by making a conscious effort to reset, ensure you set some time to the side and find a place or time that allows you to find calm to deliberate, construct and inspire you to achieve your personal growth and goals throughout 2023. For myself that is the beach, anywhere by the water and or outdoors in the fresh air so I can feel the wind in my face and just find that it grounds me and allows me to switch off and slow down.

I often speak about writing things down, I always have paper and pen on me and or am sometimes partial to taking voice notes on my phone as a reference point to journal later. Overall I find this process allows me to articulate my thoughts, feelings and concerns for the year that has been and provides a visual reference point that assists to provide context whilst helping clear my mind, why not use the below prompts to help you get started:

  • What you’ve achieved in 2022, what you wish to achieve in 2023?
  • Letting go list what you this consists of could be bad habits, people, etc… & how will you go about this?
  • What is important to you, do you make this a priority and how will you ensure you do more of this in 2023?
  • So you are letting go but what are you creating for yourself, again this can be healthy habits new routines, setting time to the side to do more of what you love, etc. & how will you achieve this?
  • Areas of growth & improvement to ensure success across all facets of your life & document how you will achieve this coming into 2023?

Focus on viewing any disappointments throughout the year as a learning opportunity to reassess what you need to do to move forward whilst providing yourself permission to keep moving forward, as you can't change the past but you can make positive changes for your future.

Remember that a reset doesn't need to be done alone, why not reach out to those you trust and love as they can assist you to provide perspective and view issues, problems and or concerns through a different lens to help you move forward whilst providing you with necessary encouragement and supports.

Be kind to yourself as changes by ensuring you start off with small achievable changes and steps in order to build a solid foundation through sustainable and achievable tasks and find your rhythm, one that works for you! Once you start to complete, master and achieve the goals it creates a sense of achievement and hope whereby it becomes easier with time and helps you to form healthy and sustainable habits and or routine!

Lastly take time to reflect as you start to kick goals and or when you struggle to achieve them as, reflection is a powerful tool as it allows us to learn from our experiences as awareness allows us to work toward positive change and reflecting on 2022 can assist your growth in 2023. Wishing you all a Happy, Safe and Prosperous New Year for you and all your loved ones, Kim
