Kamilaroi and Samoan artist Becca Hatch has released her latest single 'Extra Time' as she continues building towards her forthcoming 'Black Flower' EP.
The new track is the fourth of seven singles from the project and follows the release of 'Black Flower', 'Daylight Robbery' and 'Garden (Bang Goes The Drum)'.
Produced alongside longtime collaborator Lucy Blomkamp, 'Extra Time' moves into alt-pop while maintaining the R&B, electronic and dance influences that have shaped Hatch's recent work.
The song centres on the experience of being deeply connected to another person and feeling as though time disappears when they are together.
It continues themes of love, identity and self-discovery that run through the broader 'Black Flower' project.
Hatch described the song as a personal love letter.
"Extra Time is about loving someone so deeply that time seems to disappear when you're with them. Hours turn into seconds," she said.
"While the song leans pop and dance, the sentiment is personal and intimate. It feels like a direct love letter."
The release comes during a year that has also seen Hatch nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Soul/R&B Release for 'Garden (Bang Goes The Drum)'.
She was also named a Spotify RADAR AU/NZ artist and campaign ambassador and became one of Support Act's Aus Music T-Shirt Day On Rotation ambassadors.
Her recent releases have also found places on Australian charts, with 'Black Flower' reaching number 18 on the ARIA Top 20 Australian Hip Hop Singles chart.
'Daylight Robbery' reached number 20 on the ARIA Australian Artist Hip Hop Singles chart, while 'Garden (Bang Goes The Drum)' reached number 14 on the ARIA Australian Hip Hop/R&B chart.
The three tracks were added to triple j, along with stations including Mai FM, CADA, The Hot Hits and FBi Radio.
Hatch has also continued performing throughout 2026, with appearances at Golden Plains and Open Season's Blak Day Out and upcoming Spilt Milk dates in Canberra, the Gold Coast, Geelong and Perth.
Earlier this year she brought 'Black Flower' to triple j's Like A Version with her live band and performed a rendition of Sade's 'Smooth Operator'.
Ms Hatch also featured on Disney's globally released 'Moana: Voices Across The Ocean' soundtrack, which was inspired by her original song 'Natural'.
The project brought together Pacific artists, with Ms Hatch collaborating with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as part of the release.
She attended events for the project in Sydney and Los Angeles.
Hatch first emerged through triple j Unearthed High's Indigenous Initiative and has since developed a sound combining R&B, electronic production and dance pop.
In 2024, she was invited by Coldplay to perform her original verse on 'We Pray' during two Sydney stadium shows.
She has also supported international artists including Tinashe and Mahalia and performed at festivals including Beyond The Valley and Strawberry Fields.
Hatch won a National Indigenous Music Award in 2024 and received the APRA Professional Development Award in 2025.
'Extra Time' is available now and forms part of the continuing rollout of the 'Black Flower' EP, which is scheduled for release in February 2027.
