St Kilda forward Lance Collard has been offered a three-game ban for striking a Frankston opponent in the VFL on Friday night, while the AFL reportedly continues its investigations into an alleged homophobic slur he made.
On Saturday, St Kilda confirmed the club "is aware of an alleged incident involving one of its players during last night's VFL match against Frankston".
"The club takes matters of this nature extremely seriously and is working closely with the AFL Integrity Unit as it conducts its investigation into the matter.
"While this process is underway, it would be inappropriate for the club to comment further."
Widely reported on Saturday, Collard, 21, is being investigated for allegedly using a homophobic slur in a separate incident during the game.
In 2024, Collard was handed a six game ban for multiple slurs said during a VFL match.
Collard apologised for the incident at the time saying "I am incredibly remorseful for my comments and any hurt they may have caused".
"I'm disappointed in myself and fully accept the consequences for my behaviour," he said.
The physical incident on Friday resulted in a three-match ban offered by the match review panel.
Collard has been citied for striking the Dolphins' Jackson Voss during the third quarter, graded carless conduct, high impact and high contact, carrying a two-match ban with an early guilty plea.
A swinging arm from Collard collected Voss high shortly after disposing of the footy in the centre of the ground.
Collard has played 15 games and kicked eight goals for the Saints at AFL level since being drafted in 2023.
