Modern rugby league great Greg Inglis' rugby league CV has grown with duel coaching appointments for 2025, both at clubland and with the Maroons.

On Thursday it was announced Inglis, who retired as a player in 2019, has joined Wests Tigers' NRLW coaching staff as an assistant.

The 2024 NRL Hall of Fame inductee was announced as a new addition to Queensland's women's State of Origin setup in a similar position 24 hours earlier.

At the Tigers, Inglis is set to work in a specialist role for their back five under head coach Brett Kimmorley.

He had previously worked with the club's embattled men's side in a mentor role, fuelling speculation of a coaching future last year.

"Greg is a phenomenal addition to our coaching staff," Kimmorley said, via the club.

"His knowledge, leadership, and ability to connect with players are second to none.

"I have no doubt that he will have a profound impact on our squad as we build towards the upcoming season.

Inglis completed an NRL coaching course, and attended the club's Pathways education sessions ahead of the appointment announcement.

The Tigers finished wooden spooners in their second NRLW campaign with two wins in 2024.

At Queensland, Inglis will work in an assistant capacity for the shield holders under head coach Tahnee Norris.

"He's a legend of the game," Norris said of the Maroons veteran.

Inglis played 32 matches, rich in series wins, for his state during his playing career.

"Greg's always been an advocate for women's rugby league," Norris said.

"He's previously been around our camps as a mentor, so to have the opportunity to put him on full time this year is going to be a great asset for us.

"The knowledge that he brings is just second to none. I know our outside backs in particular will learn a lot from him."

Queensland's series defence begins with game one in May before the NRLW season kicks off in July.
