Scott Boland will return to the Big Bash League this summer after signing a new deal with the Melbourne Stars.
The three-year deal will see Boland return to his hometown Stars after spending three seasons with the Hobart Hurricanes franchise.
Boland made his debut for the Stars in BBL|03, playing 31 matches over six season for the Stars before singing with the Hurricanes ahead of BBL|09.
He said the opportunity to play in front of big crowds at the MCG was too hard to turn down.
"I can't wait to be a part of the Big Bash again and it's great to be back at home with the Melbourne Stars in front of family and friends at the MCG," Boland said.
"The Stars have the best fans in the league and hopefully I can be a part of some success and that elusive first BBL title."
During his time at the Hurricanes, Boland took 34 wickets in 26 matches however played only played two matches for the Hurricanes during in BBL|11.
He then went unsigned throughout BBL|12, focusing instead on red-ball commitments with Victoria and Australia.
Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch said he is looking forward to seeing Boland, a fan favourite at the MCG return to the Stars lineup.
"I can't remember a player busting on to the scene and being loved by the MCG crowd as much as Scott Boland since Shane Warne," Crouch said.
"It only seems appropriate that fans will get to see him more at the MCG over the next three summers for the Melbourne Stars.
"Scott is a quality person, we're thrilled to welcome him and his family back to the Stars and I know our members and fans will love what he brings to the club."
In 57 Big Bash League appearances over nine seasons Boland has taken 70 wickets at 25.11 and economy of 8.36.
His best BBL bowling performance of 4/30 came against the Adelaide Strikers in BBL|06.
