Purpose of this meeting:

1. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss, consider and decide whether to authorise a group of people (called the Applicant) to bring a new native title claim in the Federal Court of Australia over the land and waters shown in the area on the map below. The area is in the Goldfields of Western Australia, including Agnew and surrounds.

2. The matters to be discussed and decisions to be made at this meeting will include:

· whether to make a new native title claim;

· who are the people who will be included in the claim group;

· what is the decision-making process of the claim group;

· what are the rights and interests claimed;

· who the members of the Applicant will be;

· authorising the Applicant to make the claim and deal with any matters arising in relation to the claim on behalf of the claim group;

· any conditions or limitations on the authority of the Applicant;

· the name of the new claim; and

· Legal representation and support.

Please note: the meeting has been scheduled for two days. The first day will include discussion and consideration of matters listed above. The second day will include further discussion and the making of the final decisions and resolutions concerning the matters listed above. If you hold or may hold native title rights and interests in the area of the proposed claim, it is important that you attend the meeting on both days.

Anyone who falls within the following description is invited to attend the meeting:

1. Biological and/or socially recognised descendants of any of the following:

Tjulyitjutu [Rosie Jones];

Piman [Charlie Beaman];

Tjampula [Jumbo Harris];

Pukungka [Dolly Walker];

Nampu [Scotty Lewis];

Nimpurru [Spider Narrier];

Thati Evans;

The siblings, Shirley and Elizabeth Wonyabong, children of Manyila [Trilby];

The siblings, Tommy Kiiku, Dana, Yingki, Tjitjipu and Inyarnti, children of Wanganalgu;

The siblings, Kurril [Ted / Scotty Tullock], Harvey Scadden and Bob Kelly, children of Nyuringka [Biddy]; and

Ngalkuta, mother of Winmai [Topsy] and Wingie.

or

2. you consider that you or your family may hold traditional rights and interests in any part of the proposed claim area under the relevant traditional laws and customs due to:

a) Your own birth, or long association with part or all of the proposed claim area;

b) Your ancestor's birth, or long association with part or all of the proposed claim area; or

c) Your own religious, sacred and/or ritual knowledge for part or all of the proposed claim area.

The list above is a proposed, and non-exhaustive list. It is not intended to be a final description of the native title claim group. The final description will be decided at the meeting, following further consideration of those who may hold native title rights and interests in the proposed claim area.

Travel Assistance

Travel assistance to contribute towards the cost of attending the meeting, may be available to attendees who live over 50 kms away from where the meeting is held. Travel assistance is calculated at a rate of $0.40/km, capped at a maximum of $400 for a return trip. Native Title Services Goldfields is unable to pay travel assistance if the driver's license or vehicle registration is not valid.
